Diana

Diana is a illustrative work I created back in my sophomore year at my old high school, CCTS Gloucester Campus. Taking a few years, I decided to share her along with some of my more personal work as prints and graphic t-shirts available for purchase. Diana is my first t-shirt design and she will not be my last. I plan to continue to make my shirts and prints available in the store section of my website…coming soon 🙂

Peace of Cake

Peace of Cake is more than just a project for me, it represents my beginning as a professional designer, and its continued success is a blessing to me and the city of Camden, New Jersey.
Please, take the time to visit my family at Peace of Cake; located at 107 N 6th Street, Camden, New Jersey.

The Job-Training Program Giving City Kids a Reason to Hope

During my internship at Hopeworks ‘N Camden, I was interviewed by Nationswell about my experience there and what the program has done for me.

“In partnership with Comcast Impact, we’ve identified five AllStars using technology to change the world. From 10/2 – 11/2, visit nationswell.com/allstars and vote for one to receive $10,000 to further their work!”

Feel free to watch the video on Youtube.

I was written about by a wonderful journalist at CNN, back in April 2018.

“Camden, New Jersey, has offered Brandon Rodriguez some harsh life lessons and some surprising opportunities.”

Check it out here to get to know a little about my upbringing.

Senior Citation Award of Excellence

THE SENIOR CITATION AWARD OF EXCELLENCE IS AWARDED TO BRANDON RODRIGUEZ

After a year of dedicated work, I completed my senior thesis project, Mitos Encantada (Enchanted Myths), an online encyclopediac experience website with four Puerto Rican Taino myths, written, translated, illustrated, designed, and built by me. The site also contained a dedicated 7,000+ word dictionary also written by me, including a bibliography. The best part is that this site is live, and an ongoing passion project of mine.

After all of my efforts, I was awarded the Senior Citation Award of Excellence by the University of the Arts graphic design department as a result of garnering enough points before a panel of 10+ judges before my peers.

You can view the process book for my senior thesis project above. In the book, I include examples of my process of designing the custom iconography, layouts, and type choices I made for the stories.

The process was long and actually incomplete but therein lies the beauty of my project. It is a project that I will continue to support with original stories, illustrations, and even narration. I wanted my senior thesis to be something real, tangible, and meaningful to the world. It was essential that I make it as valuable as possible.
